YAY for my Parents!

My mom and dad and my nephew Cody came in yesterday. Joe'l went to pick them up from the airport while I was at work, so my normally difficult Thursday wasn't much of a problem.

:) After resting for a while, my dad was hungry and wanted salad--so I took the opportunity to take them to Sweet Tomato. I love that place. You can get a great salad...then load up on carbs! It was just what the parents were wanting.

Afterward, we came home and chatted, and then being the troopers they are, went to Joe'l's basketball game at 10 o'clock. Troopers: the game ended at 11 -- 1 am their time.

Today, Joe'l brought them all to visit me at school. It was fun. One of my students asked my dad what kind of student I was and he said--without hesitation--"lazy"! Ahhhhhh! Hard to be the hard ass demanding teacher when your kids find out you were lazy. I laughed.

The best about having mommy and daddy visit is that there is still a part of them that wants to take care of me. And, I don't really mind--not that I am taking advantage, but I won't turn it down either. I had to stay after school for a little while to work with the drama kids, but when I came home--there was a brisket roasting in the oven. It smelled delicious. My parents had Joe'l take them to the grocery store when they left my school and she bought things to make for dinner. She even made this awesome strawberry dessert. Refreshing. And mostly sugar-free!

Mads is having a difficult time sharing. I hope she learns soon.

Tomorrow, we are in no hurry. I think tomorrow is a good day to go to Chukchansi--especially if it's raining. I just have to find somewhere for Cody and Madissen to go. Technically they are old enough, but I don't feel all right with that.

I don't know. I am just glad to have them here.

I miss them. They look good, too. (My dad has put some weight back on and for the last 6 months has had consistent normal blood sugar reading--mom needs someone to help her pay attention to sugar, but other than that, she looks good, too).

See y'all later! I will report more on the parental visit later.
