"The reality of the other person lies not in what he reveals to you, but what he cannot reveal to you. Therefore, if you would understand him, listen not to what he says, but rather to what he does not say." --Kahlil Gibran

Fuzzy Math and Abstinence

Sara Palin and Todd Palin eloped in 1988 and her son Track was born 8 months later (he was full term and not pre-mature).

Not that this is something that doesn't happen in our society, but...

Do as I say not as I do (did)...this doesn't always work.

But her daughter did, too.

Can I ask a question? Ok...so I know by saying that I already did, but...

Is it less of a big deal because they are caucasian christians who have asked for forgiveness? I don't understand. I know when I was being raised Catholic...there were levels of sins. You know...if you got pregnant out of marriage...then you got married and everything was okay. Is that how this is supposed to be perceived?

It really confuses me how someone can say abstinence--not sex education--is the way we should be dealing with pre-marital sex, yet within a christian family who has god on their side...they can't even manage to practice this.

Seriously...I don't mean to sound stupid...but I just don't get it.

It's certainly not you who sounds stupid.

Abstinence is a great contraception, right up until you quit using it. That's when the rest of those gadgets and pills come in handy.
